You will learn how the essentials of economic principles, fair accounting practices and financial systems, come together in the worlds of tax accounting, cost accounting and financial accounting. You will learn how to work as an effective member of a team, acquiring the necessary skills to adapt from servicing a small business in need of smart advice to a large corporation with complex financial and accounting needs. The field of accounting is experiencing constant technological advancements. As a result, you will also learn how to surf the wave of innovation while keeping your feet firmly planted in your discipline.
This two-year program offers you an intensive but well-rounded curriculum. Your course of study will focus on financial accounting, information systems, business law, cost accounting and economics. A broad liberal arts core rounds out your education.
With an associate's degree in accounting, you will have the necessary skills needed to qualify for a variety of entry-level positions in public, private or governmental accounting. This degree program was designed for working professionals who wish to improve their marketable skills and for students who desire to enter the workforce in entry-level accounting positions immediately following graduation.
